Incidence’s with GMO’s must be reported to the IBC as soon as possible after they occur. Most typically these are incidences that may lead to a breach of containment, eg., a broken window in the lab, breakage of panels in the glasshouse, or release of material during transport. All of these are unintended releases and must be reported.

Unexplained illnesses of personnel working in GMO certified facilities must also be reported. This is a requirement whether or not the affected individuals are working with the GMO’s.
