Changes To Candidature
If you wish to change your enrolment status (e.g. from full-time to
part-time study), to modify your programme of study, or suspend your
studies, you must seek the approval of the Board. A suspension will
also require the approval of your Supervisor, the Head of School or
the Faculty Postgraduate Co-ordinator. Applications should be submitted
in the first instance to your Principal Supervisor. There is a "Variation
of Candidature" form which you must complete to vary your candidature.
Download the form.
As outlined in the Postgraduate
Research Degrees Regulations and the Professional Doctorate Regulations,
a suspension does not count towards your minimum period of candidature. Approval
for a period of suspension is most commonly given because of illness or other
exceptional circumstances, and is limited to a maximum of two years, or twelve
months in the case of a scholarship student.
