Dispute Resolution

Murdoch University is aware that postgraduate research students may, during the course of their research programme, run into a number of problems which, if not resolved in a straightforward manner, might impede satisfactory progress. Should you, as an enrolled research student at Murdoch University, find yourself in a distressing situation you are entitled, and the University would support you in seeking a suitable solution. Issues that might require dispute resolution procedures may include, yet are not limited to, things such as supervisory arrangements, equity of allocation of resources, personal rights with respect to safety, academic authorship and intellectual property rights, conditions of any employment which results from your enrolment as a postgraduate student, scholarships and the examination process. These procedures have been established to assist and support you in every way. Matters of dispute that arise from services provided by the Graduate Centre should be directed in the first instance to the Manager of the Graduate Centre, or the Director of the Division of Research and Development.
