Maintenance Costs

Your Faculty is responsible for funding your general maintenance costs, such as chemicals and other consumables, essential photocopying, and essential travel for research purposes.  Some Faculties make individual budgetary provision for each of their postgraduate research students.  An annual estimate of your maintenance requirements will be included in your research programme.  If you have supervisors in more than one Faculty, you should seek funds from the Faculty in which your principal supervisor is situated.

The Board will oversee the provision of adequate resources for research students by Faculties.  Your study programme will not be approved by the Board unless the Faculty guarantees the necessary resources.
