Milestones
Each year you are expected to complete an annual progress report (due
early September) and indicate where you are in relation to the target
dates outlined in your Programme of Study.
In the Progress Report you are asked to outline
your progress, the stage you have reached and any problems relevant to the progress
of your research. As of 2001 the University has implemented a new process for
monitoring research student progress. This has come about because of new Government
policy on research training and research management.
The new system, called candidature 'milestones',
will help both you and us to manage your research candidature more effectively.
The purpose of milestones is to introduce into the research degree programme
a number of clearly identifiable goals which you can work towards. You will
therefore be asked to provide information on your progress. Milestones are measured
at varying intervals. By checking the links below you will be able
to determine which milestones are relevant to your research degree.
