PhD Completion Scholarships

Completion Scholarships will not be offered until 2nd Semester 2008, further information will be posted here as soon as it is available.

• A student must be able to complete their thesis within the nominated period. The maximum period is four months, but applications for shorter periods are encouraged.
• A student must be enrolled on a full-time basis during the scholarship and must work full-time on the thesis.
• In order to be considered for a completion scholarship, applicants must be supported by their supervisor and their Faculty of Study.
• Students who have already held a previous scholarship other than a completion scholarship will be eligible to apply.
• Students who have already received an extension scholarship wil be ineligible to apply for a completion scholarship for a period of 12 months after the expiry date of their award.
• Students are ineligible if they are currently receiving a scholarship.
  

The value of the award is $6,525, and this will be paid in three equal instalments of $2175.00
The first instalment will be made at the beginning of the scholarship, the second will be paid on completion of the milestone and the third will be paid on submission of the thesis for examination.
Scholarships awarded for shorter periods of time we be adjusted on a pro-rata basis.
Payments will be made as close to the designated milestone date as possible, but processing time for milestone forms and coinciding with the University payroll deadlines must be taken into account.
