Code of Conduct for Research - The
broad principles that guide research have been long established. Central
to these are the maintenance of high ethical standards, and validity
and accuracy in the collection and reporting of data.
Appointment of Supervisor(s) - Supervisors
are appointed by the Research and Development Board in consultation
with the proposed Supervisor and prospective student.
Absence of a Principal Supervisor
- Where there is only one supervisor from within the University it
is necessary for a temporary supervisor from within the University
to be nominated when the sole supervisor goes on extended leave.
Dispute Resolution - The University has
established procedures for help in dispute resolution on both an informal
and formal basis.
Fieldwork Policy - This fieldwork policy
has been developed to provide guidance to research students engaged
in fieldwork activities. All students undertaking fieldwork will need
complete a Fieldwork Approval Form.
Guidelines on Joint Authorship
- The University encourages joint authorship by academic staff and
postgraduate research students in appropriate cases.
DEFAMATION - Advice to students - It
is a civil and criminal offence in Australia to publish anything which
defames another person. This guideline is information for students
on what constitutes defamation.
