Forest & Wood Products Australia

Forest and Wood Products Australia, an inductry services company invites applications for scholarships to support Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents full-time study towards postgraduate research degrees tenable at Australian Universities commencing in 2010.

FWPA scholarships are awarded for research contributing to nominated priority areas of interest to Australian forest and wood product based industries.  The scholarships are awarded for a maximum of three years and are offered as a full or top-up Postgraduate scholarship.

Full scholarships are awarded as an annual stipend of $30,000 together with a research support grant of $5,000.

Top-up scholarships are available to students who gain an APA or equivalent university award.  The value of the top-up award will vary depending on the value of the primary scholarship but the combined total value will be $35,000 per annum.

Requirements
Scholarship recipients must possess a minimum of a second-class honours degree and meet all admission requirements of the host academic institution.

Completed proposals (2 pages maximum - no set format) under the name of proposed principal research supervisor should be sent to the FWPA at the address listed below.

Proposals will be assessed in relation to relevance to current FWPA research programs.  Strong preference will be accorded to areas of study with demonstrated industry support and collaboration.

Closing date is Friday November 13, 2009.
