ARC Discovery - Indigenous Researchers Development

The Discovery-Indigenous Researchers Development programme provides support for Indigenous Australian researchers to undertake research projects which may lead to an advance in the understanding of a subject or contribute to the solution of an important practical problem.

To be eligible, the applicant must be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who identify and are accepted as such by the community in which s/he lives or has lived. Indigenous Researchers enrolled in higher research degrees may apply for a grant to fund a research project that forms part of their current research towards a graduate degree.

All applicants are advised to read the ARC Discovery Indigenous Research Development (DIRD) Funding Rules and other relevant application material available at ARC's website. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your Grant Contract Officer. Please notify the Research Support Office of your intent to submit a DIRD application.

RESEARCH MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (RMS) INFORMATION

All ARC applications must be submitted via the RMS.  Enter your RMS User ID and password in the fields provided to log on.  Contact Research Support for assistance with RMS.

What is RMS?
RMS allows researchers requesting funding under the ARC National Competitive Grants Program to prepare and submit proposals electronically via the internet.
Each proposal is completed by researchers and consists of an electronic document generated from a combination of data entered directly into the proposal form, and PDF documents attached to the proposal form, in RMS.

All RMS users must have an RMS User Account; each account has a single RMS User ID and password.  RMS Users must have a current email address and maintain their email address details in RMS.  Users can apply online through RMS, however users associated with an Australian University will have their User Account requests validated by their Research Office, and should discuss their account request with the Research Office prior to submitting the online request.
