FUNDING RESOURCES
There are many, diverse sources of funding available for research. Some are
government agencies, charitable organisations, private companies, and multinational
conglomerates. With so many different sources of funding, the best way of finding
these opportunities is to use one of the funding databases listed below. We

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
ARC – Australian Research Council
The Australian Research Council is a statutory authority within the Australian Government's Education, Science and Training portfolio. The ARC advises the Government on research matters.
NHMRC – National Health and Medical Research Foundation
The National Health and Medical Research Council is Australia's peak body for supporting health and medical research; for developing health advice for the Australian community, health professionals and governments; and for providing advice on ethical behaviour in health care and in the conduct of health and medical research.
DEEWR – Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
The department implements government policies and programs to provide education and training opportunities for all Australians, to increase employment participation and to ensure fair and productive workplaces. Education, training and workforce participation are central to our goal of building a productive and socially inclusive nation, one which values diversity and provides opportunities for all Australians to build rewarding social and economic lives.
ACGR – The australian Competitive Grants Register
The ACGR lists qualifying, nationally competitive research schemes. The income that Higher Education Providers receive from schemes listed on the ACGR drives the allocation of over $200 million of Research Infrastructure Block Grants (RIBG) annually.
FUNDING DATABASES
Community of Science
COS is a comprehensive database of international and Australian
funding opportunities, and includes opportunities in all academic
discipline areas. Many of the international schemes are open
to Australian researchers, and most Australian schemes are
included.
JASON Scholarship
Database The Joint Academic Scholarships On-Line Network was established
by the University of Melbourne, and is the primary source of scholarships available
to students in Australia.
GrantsLINK
Find suitable and relevant grants from the many Australian government grants that are available. Technical aspects of GrantsLINK are managed by the Australian Government Department of Transport and Regional Services. Information on grants is provided by relevant portfolio agencies and Government departments.
