The following table is for use when determining costings for personnel in all grant application budgets.

The circumstances under which award holders are entitled to the following allowances are set out in the Guidelines.
The Allowance Rates for Australian Postgraduates are:

Relocation expenses : $505 per adult, $255 per child ($1,250 maximum)
Travel expenses : economy or student concession airfares
Thesis : $420 for a Masters thesis, $840 for a PhD thesis. Payable for PhD or Masters thesis upon submission of a valid claim on
completion of the project

In the case of personnel to be supported on the grant, the provision is made up of one or more quanta. These are provided as PSPs designed to cover
all salary and salary on-costs (eg payroll tax, workers compensation, leave loading, compulsory and contributory superannuation and long service leave)
as well as some additional support for minor operational maintenance (this might include postage, phone/fax, printing, stationery, computer hardware
and software). Six levels are available:

Personal Support Packages

PSP5 - Senior experienced postdoctoral researcher (i.e, a researcher who would normally be considered as a named investigator on the research application and/or approaching the NHMRC CDA scheme or equivalent)

TRAVEL & MILAGE RATES

An employee who travels on official business shall be reimbursed reasonable expenses according to the Murdoch University (General Staff) Enterprise Agreement (extract clause 52).
Schedule B - Travel allowance is also attached for general rates. These documents will give you more information when claiming travel expenses in grant proposals.
