(for proof of refereeing)

ISI

Address:

http://www.isinet.com/cgi-bin/jrnlst/jloptions.cgi?PC=Master

Instructions

  • Go to the page (link above, read these notes first though)
  • bookmark the page on your browser
  • Click on the "Search" button, in the middle of the screen

Then do one of the following:

  • Choose "Title Word" under the drop-down on the left-hand side of the screen, and enter in ONE word of the title of the journal in the "Type Search Term" field on the right-hand side of the screen.  (Choose the  most unique word, to make the search results as small as possible)
  • Choose "Full Journal Title" under the drop-down on the left-hand side of the screen, and enter in THE WHOLE journal title in the "Type Search Term" field on the right-hand side of the screen. (Or you can enter the first few words and then hit *-  ie "The Journal of Clinical Pyschology*" )
  • Choose "ISSN" under the drop-down on the left-hand side of the screen, and enter in THE WHOLE ISSN number of the journal in the "Type Search Term" field on the right-hand side of the screen.
  • Click on  the "Search" button, below the right-hand side field
  • Click on the "Format for Print" button - note: ISI does NOT allow you to select only one Journal to print, as Ulrich's does.  For this reason it is extremely important that you choose your search terms carefully.  We recommend searching on option two "Full Journal Title" to avoid this, as scrolling through the results can be laborious.
  • Click on the "Print" button on your browser
  • Now go to http://www.isinet.com/cgi-bin/jrnlst/jloptions.cgi?PC=Master     and do this process

Ulrich's

Instructions

  • Go to the page (link above, read these notes first)
  • bookmark this page on your browser
  • enter one or two unique/distinctive words in the name of the journal (note, not the name of the article).  An example of this would be: The Australian Journal of French Studies - "Australian" and "French"  are the words you would use in your search.
  • Click on the "Start search" button
  • Select the relevant record from the list which appears by clicking on the blue 'Record' hyperlink which appears at the start of it
  • Once in the record, scroll down it until you reach the 'Refereed' line
  • If this line has the words "yes" on it, then the journal is refereed (and thus, the article has been)
  • Click on the "Print" button at the top of the screen
  • Click on the "Print Records" button at the top of the next screen which appears
  • Click on the "Print" button when the license screen appears
  • When your printers screen comes up, click on "OK" or "Print" (whichever is the button for your printer)

Now go to  http://ulrichsweb.com/ulrichsweb/        and do this process
