David Doepel recently served as a Principal Policy Adviser to the Hon. Alan Carpenter Premier of Western Australia. Prior to that engagement he was the Regional Director for the Americas, based in Los Angeles, for the Western Australian Trade and Investment Office. In that role he was responsible for the State Government’s strategic marketing efforts on behalf of industry in the Americas. In both positions Mr. Doepel was a powerful advocate for Western Australian technology, creativity and innovation.
Mr. Doepel holds degrees from Murdoch University, the Melbourne College of Divinity and Boston University. He co-founded a full-service, multi-media and interactive technology company in the U.S. that produced award-winning documentaries and CD-ROMs prior to moving into Internet application development in the mid-1990s, where the company developed a specialization working within the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
Mr. Doepel also served on numerous peer review panels for the U.S. National Institutes of Health evaluating Small Business Innovation Grants.
